Health Disclaimer: I am NOT a health care professional. However, since diagnosis with type 2 diabetes 21 years ago which runs in my family, I have never taken medication for this medical condition.
The knowledge gained over time along with being trained as a:
1. Diabetes UK Community Champion volunteer 13 years ago.
2. Diabetes Ambassador / Activist – NHS Birmingham & Solihull Integrated Care System (10 years)
3. From October 2025 similar voluntary role for Birmingham Community Healthcare – NHS Foundation Trust.

Tony’s commitment to diabetes awareness began with his own diagnosis 21 years ago. Having controlled his type 2 diabetes exclusively through physical activity and diet—and without any medication—he serves as living proof that, for some individuals, the right mindset and lifestyle can transform health outcomes.
Known for his dynamic presentation style and authenticity, Tony now delivers around 140 community engagements every year, with a record 195 sessions in 2019.

Tony works with professionals, community groups, religious places of worship and individuals, locally nationally and internationally.
Tony has a more strategic community-focused role with the Birmingham and Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. He has delivered international work in Jamaica, Canada, Barbados and Montserrat to name a few places. Tony is a sought-after speaker familiar to audiences across radio, television, and online media. Tony contributes actively to major UK health research initiatives. Tony has edited a range of impactful books.
